Summary:

Lead the site in the areas of safety, quality & efficiency by developing and implementing products, processes and systems to reduce costs. Ensure products, processes and systems comply with Sealed Air (Entapack) and customer specifications. Implement process/product changes, process improvements, and new product introductions.  Be a key member of the site leadership team for both internal business dealings & external customer requirements. Scope is Dandenong site and customer visits across Australia.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Lead the functions of safety, quality & process engineering for the site.
  • Lead risk assessments and follow through on the implementation of recommendations for new equipment and procedures. Co-operate with the company to comply with Acts, Regulations and company safety policies. Support with Engineering Solutions for sites safety improvements.
  • Using Material knowledge and know how, plan and execute raw material substitutions, including coordination of subsequent testing of new product introduction or existing product modification trials on manufacturing equipment.  This includes Blown Film Extrusion, Injection Moulding & Film Conversion Machinery. 
  • Manage and implement small to medium projects across the site. Projects will include but not limited to process improvements, development, machinery up grades & commissioning, process development and refinement, SOCs & SOPs development.
  • Customer technical support for new / modified product introductions or product performance issues .
  • Using Continuous Improvement methodologies and a close liaison with operations, lead group to deliver measurable rate and yield improvements within your area.
  • Troubleshooting technical processing issues when operator experience is exhausted. Work with contract maintenance personal in rectification and solutions to daily production machine variances.
  • Key member in daily integration and performance review meetings.  Supporting & Updating the team on technical know how for previous 24hr performance.  Organize Contract personal based on meeting outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Technical degree - required
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) - experience
  • Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) - experience
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) - experience
  • Six Sigma Training – desired
  • Ability to participate in and lead multiple tasks, projects & initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization
  • A high level of personal organization to allow success in a fast moving and demanding environment
  • Able to travel for short / periods of time, intrastate/interstate/overseas.
