Summary

Sealed Air is looking for an Applications Expert Engineer to support our packaging machinery operation in Ayer, Massachusetts. This position will play a vital role in providing factory technical support for Sealed Air packaging equipment. The Application Expert team is an integral part of Innovation and Development Engineering. Responsibilities include reviewing new designs concepts, performing beta test installations and machine integration, and leading equipment training classes. This position requires some direct customer and distributor contact. The optimal candidate for this role will have previous technical experience supporting and troubleshooting industrial equipment. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, problem-solving aptitude, and interpersonal skills are essential. 

Responsibilities

•    Provide technical support for Sealed Air packaging equipment via phone and customer visits.
•    Conduct technical training, equipment demonstrations, factory acceptance tests, and installations/start-ups.
•    Assist in the development of training materials, PM schedules, and equipment manuals.
•    Conduct film testing and produce sample packages.
•    Support Engineering with testing equipment design and new technologies.
•    Active participation in change the game efforts to improve the quality of products we offer our customers.
•    Position requires approximately 25% travel.
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical/Mechanical discipline or 3+ years’ experience working with industrial equipment.
•    Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.  
•    Understanding of various mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components. 
•    Comfortable supporting/learning emerging technologies. (Printers, Scanners, Remote Access, Integrations)
•    Methodical approach to diagnostics.
•    Ability to work independently, as well as, in team environments.
•    Skilled in Microsoft Office products.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•    Time management, decision-making, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills.
•    Professional attitude; self-motivated and disciplined to produce quality work.
•    Ability to lead projects.
