Job Description

Sealed Air has an immediate opening for a Machinist – CNC Lathe Operator located in the equipment manufacturing site in Ayer, Massachusetts. The qualified candidate must be able to work from written procedures, blueprints, and verbal instructions under minimal supervision.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
•   Set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
•   Calculate requirements, including basic math.
•   Load feed mechanism.
•   Verify settings by adhering to international standards.
•   Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting. (This includes turning, facing, knurling and threat chasing operations.)
•   Take measurements.
•   Piece part setups and breakdowns.
•   Detect malfunctions and troubleshoot.
•   Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
•   Accomplish organization goals by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
•   Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Machining experience

• Conceptual skills

• Process improvement

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and sketches to produce parts

•   Functional and technical skills
•   Attention to detail
•   Knowledge of OKUMA, FADALS, and ROBODRILLS helpful

•   Safe work history
•   Good communication skills
•   Supply management
•   Mathematical skills

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
