Job Description

 

 

This position is directly responsible for the supply chain activities performed at SEE Automation Center Ayer, MA, the delivery of key performance metrics goals, the implementation of corporate programs and tools (e.g. audits, HR processes, etc.) and the robust and smooth execution of processes run by supply chain functions, production, planning, and logistics. The position owner actively sponsors a site culture in line with corporate core competences (owner mentality, customer obsessed, agile through adversity, never totally satisfied) and as such will raise and deliver continuous improvement initiatives. Promote a culture focused on Zero Harm while driving flawless quality. The leadership role promotes supply chain staff openness to the broader business perspectives, the tight partnership with business leaders and other functions, a clear understanding of the corporate and competitive environment, the industry best practices and the integration of these external factors into the site supply chain processes and deliverables. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Production of Product Care Equipment machines, lines and spare-parts at the site
  • Refurbishment of made or outsourced Product Care Equipment machines returned from NA customers
  • Production of dies and other extrusion systems for Sealed Air extrusion plants globally
  • Order fulfillment, outbound logistics, global distribution and export administration of finished goods machines, lines, spare parts, dies and other extrusion systems ex-works or regional contractors
  • Strategic purchasing and tactical management of suppliers of materials, components, sub-assemblies, outsourced and traded machines, execution of procurement, inbound logistics and import processes
  • Management of monthly Sales & Operations Planning and tight collaboration with Product Care Equipment business leaders
  • Preparation of Annual Operation Plan for Supply Chain
  • Workforce and staff management, training, discipline, compliance to corporate policies & tools
  • Leadership or participation to global, regional or local, strategic or tactical equipment supply chain improvement projects or Capex projects
  • Tight partnership with Die group at the site
  • Support to Product Care Equipment RD&E activities at the site
  • Creation and maintenance in SAP NBP of regional Product Care equipment master data, global collaboration with other equipment master data teams
  • Accountable for Supply Chain performance metrics against Corporate goals and AOP: safety, sustainability, service, lead-times, quality, costs, variances, suppliers’ ppm
  • Accountable for regional equipment inventory level and for aged inventory
  • Accountable for the delivery of Supply Chain operation budget direct and indirect, freight costs inbound and outbound
  • Accountable for the compliance of equipment to applicable regulations and standards through intimate team work with regulatory and subject matter experts
  • Member of Regional Product Care Equipment Team
  • Member of Global Equipment Supply Chain strategic projects such as Turnkey

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering; MBA is preferred
  • 5+ years of results-oriented experience in manufacturing, preferably mechanical & electrical engineering and assembly
  • Experience or knowledge of safety, quality, lean manufacturing and purchasing
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with managing direct & indirect reports, setting goals, assigning work, providing coaching, developing staff and making management decisions in collaboration with management and Human Resources; hands-on management approach
  • Excellent organizational, planning and priority setting skills, self and in working with other functions or groups
  • Adaptable to business events and to corporate priorities
  • Able to work with remote management and with international contacts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels from shop floor to senior management
  • Willing and able to understand and integrate new technologies, techniques & processes
  • Polished presentation, business acumen and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, ERP manufacturing systems (SAP a plus), process mapping, and Six Sigma principles
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Owner mentality, customer obsessed, agile through adversity, never totally satisfied
  • Minimum Green Belt Certification or equivalent training and project completion may be considered
