Job Description

Sealed Air is seeking a driven, team oriented, engineering professional to fulfill our current Sr. Software Engineering opening, located in Ayer, Massachusetts.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for software design, implementation, and release of customized solutions that interact and communicate with packaging equipment and e-commerce back-office programs and systems.

The ability to handle multiple projects and priorities is critical. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as interact with team members and leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Design, develop & maintain software to integrate equipment and data systems / servers.
  • Work with sales and customers to understand and develop project requirements and specifications.
  • System integration of various packaging and networking equipment controls
  • Troubleshooting & customer support with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, documentation, and commissioning. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience will be considered
  • 5-8 years’ experience designing, developing, and testing .NET C# applications.
  • 2-3 years’ experience designing, developing, and testing SQL Server and SQLite databases.
  • 2-3 years’ experience designing, developing, and testing ASP.NET web applications using HTML 5, CSS, and third-party libraries.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in designing robust software solutions for real-time, mission critical applications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multi-threaded applications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Windows Operating System including: Windows Services, Microsoft IIS, APIs, Windows Registry, ODBC, and user accounts.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to interface with customers directly as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a high level of organization.
  • Ability to keep pace with rapidly changing business priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Willingness to support global installations and travel when necessary.

 

 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with at least one of the following industrial network protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, CAN Bus, DeviceNet.
  • Experience with PLC ladder logic programming (Rockwell SLC or Logix controllers preferred).
  • Experience with IoT technology with concentration in edge devices.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Serial protocols, RS232, RS485, RS42
  • AutoCAD Electrical Schematic Capture
