Job Summary

 

Sealed Air is seeking a driven manufacturing professional to fulfill our current opening at our equipment manufacturing site located in Ayer, Massachusetts.  The qualified candidate will report to the Director of Operations and be responsible for production supply planning and managing the S&OP process within a team framework. The ability to handle multiple projects, work independently, and interact with team leaders is critical.  

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage site Planning functions and personnel (as well as tactical buying process and personnel)
  • Responsibilities include incoming supply and demand planning
  • Develop raw material stocking plan for WIP and FG inventory to meet customer demand
  • Responsible for effective planning and scheduling to meet customer demand
  • Lead and manage the production order-scheduling process
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Portfolio Managers to review demand planning
  • Manage the Master Schedule and establish commit dates
  • Verify all required inventory is available for scheduled production
  • Expedite shortages as necessary
  • Oversight of needed parts due to Production Change Notices (PCN)
  • Monitor and adjust Master Data, fabrication, and build lead times; and for inventory position (safety stock levels and re-order points)
  • Perform periodic reviews of lead times for both internal fabrication and suppliers
  • Work with the Shipping Manager to ensure timely shipments of all domestic and IMEX shipments
  • Oversee vendor managed inventory programs
  • Review daily shortages, and determine cause and corrective actions for errors as needed
  • Guide and direct Planners in establishing and administering planning procedures and practices 
  • Lead inventory cost savings initiatives such as MOQ
  • Provide monthly stocking position analysis to Director of Operations
  • Oversee and control all aspects of inventory availability from raw material to finished goods
  • Review and update departmental procedures to ensure efficiency
  • Responsible for MRP data integrity
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college 
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management or equivalent
  • 4+ years of people management experience 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Self-motivated team player who takes action with minimal direction
  • The ability to effectively discuss and present information responding to questions from Sales Representatives, Managers, and Inside Customers
  • Experience with operational targets including month end and quarter close processes for inventory
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented
  • Customer obsessed mentality 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MRP/ERP, VMI, and Kanban working with material-related transactions
  • Value working in a team environment where individual accomplishments are paramount to the organization's success
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

 

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Experience in industrial equipment assembly and metal fabrication industry a plus
  • Strong working knowledge SAP
  • Working knowledge of Visual MRP highly desired
  • APICS certification highly desired
  • Experience and background in a low-volume high-mix environment
  • Six Sigma or equivalent quality training
