This role is based at our Sealed Air Canada head office and manufacturing facility located in Brampton, ON. Our location produces lightweight foam, Jiffy lite bubble padded mailers, bubble wrap products, and other protective packaging products. POSITION TYPE

This is a seven (7) month contract assignment to backfill for an upcoming maternity/parental leave. There is possibility of extension during this time.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Generalist, People Experience role supports, implements, and executes all tactical aspects of the HR function for a designated client group (primarily our Brampton site and our Canadian employees, but also regional US employees). Responsibilities include but are not limited to pension administration, employee relations, employee engagement, total rewards (compensation, benefits, immigration & relocation); talent acquisition (recruiting, new hire on-boarding, orientation), talent management (succession planning, performance management & development), diversity & inclusion programs coordination, employee life cycle management, process improvement and documentation, and goodwill initiatives. Responsibilities include the following:

•    DB & DC pension administration and support (processing required contributions, monitoring file feeds, ensuring changes flow through, following up with employee and vendor requests, maintenance of files, assistance with audits and compliance)
•    Support for benefits administration including administering our STD/LTD programs
•    Development and rollout of communications including site-specific memos, updates and a nationwide monthly newsletter
•    Management of LOAs on the HRIS system
•    Coordinating payroll related changes
•    Assistance with HR related audits and compliance
•    Full cycle recruitment for Brampton supply chain roles
•    Employee life cycle management for all Canadian employees
•    Policy updates, process improvements & process documentation
•    Management of HR files (primarily electronic, but physical files too)
•    Payment and follow-up of all HR related invoices
•    Coordinate employee rngagement & goodwill initiatives
•    Processing all HR related mail
•    Support on Workers Compensation claims
•    Acts as the business partner to the Brampton Supply Chain team and coordinates key initiatives such as Town Halls, engagement activities, service anniversary and other recognition programs
•    This role requires regular on-site presence to support our manufacturing facility. Partnering with local management and participating local initiatives and projects, as needed.

Qualifications

•    Degree or diploma in HR or related field required
•    Minimum 2-4 years of experience within HR, preferably in a manufacturing facility and/or large corporation 
•    Ability to read, write, understand, and speak fluent English
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment and be on site 4-5 days per week
•    Computer literacy with MS Suite, Excel, Word, HRIS, and other systems (ADP, SAP, Success Factors) 
•    Knowledge of employment legislation (Federal, Ontario and other provincial legislation)
•    Ability to learn, work and problem-solve independently with minimal support
•    Process improvement and documentation skills
•    Demonstrated follow-through, time management, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
•    Solid business acumen
•    High attention to detail
•    Benefits & pension administration an asset
•    US/global exposure or experience in an HR role an asset
