Job Description

 

Sealed Air is seeking a driven individual to focus on developing new products for the packaging industry. This individual should have the ability to understand packaging materials, packaging systems, industry standard test methods, and our customers’ operations. This individual must also be able to understand packaging materials interaction with the packaged consumer product. The qualified candidate will be responsible for using heightened curiosity to develop test plans, conduct fitness-for-use testing, communicate results and make expert recommendations on a path forward to customers, their team, and key stakeholders. In addition to the development of new packaging solutions, this role is tasked with supporting our business by training, troubleshooting, and communicating the performance of our solutions to both internal stakeholders and our customers. This individual will also be responsible for engaging with equipment and materials teams, field support, sales, customer service, and supply chain to ensure new and existing products continue to meet the high standards of Sealed Air Corporation. 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Understand our customers’ needs and gather feedback and front-end intelligence by creating strong customer relationships during on-site customer visits
  • Ensure project scopes are targeted and valuable to our customers 
  • Develop, conduct, and lead rigorous test plans and field trials that validate customer, business, and technical requirements of new automation and robotics equipment
  • Prepare and share technical results and customer feedback to lead data-driven design and business decisions throughout the new product development cycle
  • Collaborate with field and service organizations to provide on-site and remote customer support and troubleshooting throughout equipment field trials and installation start-ups
  • Develop and conduct new automation equipment training and demonstrations for customers and internal partners 
  • Quantify the impact of manufacturing process and raw material changes on industrial equipment and the performance of the material/equipment interaction overall. 
  • Apply competitive intelligence, current technologies, and detailed understanding of materials, equipment, and customer operations to influence decisions that drive future innovations
  • Position requires at least 30% travel
     

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, engineering or packaging discipline preferred
  • Experience interacting with customers and multiple business functions preferred
  • Minimum of three years professional experience 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Understanding of various mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Experience creating test plans and data-driven reports to communicate technical needs and results 
  • Ability to effectively present technical concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines
  • Professional, highly motivated, reliable, and solutions-orientated
