Job Description

The Digital Product Manager, aligned with the Division, sets the product vision and strategic direction, tracks execution of product development, and serve as a conduit between all stakeholders.

Road-map Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of product’s value proposition and builds a roadmap with the business to deliver intended value
  • Work with the Divisions and leadership team to define and prioritize product roadmap based on the needs of customers and internal teams
  • Communicate the road-map to all stakeholders as it evolves

Requirements Gathering and Management

  • Engage with Division and its customers to understand their needs
  • Consolidate business requirements from all parties
  • Review business requirements to ensure they are current

Spec Development

  • Determine and document the value of requirements
  • Create high level use-cases and feature definitions based on requirements
  • Validate use-cases with customers and stakeholders, documenting assumptions
  • Engage the design and engineering teams on these use-cases

Prioritize and Manage Work for the Engineering Team

  • Coordinate scoping and creation of work estimates
  • Manage and prioritize the backlog for the engineering team
  • Clearly document acceptance criteria

Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate to all stakeholders: the progress of feature development, the progress of infrastructure development and system scaling, changes to the road-map and business priorities
  • Manage expectations and oversee negotiation of priorities between stakeholders

Documentation

  • Maintain product documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee integration of this documentation into the product

Managing the Product Lifecycle

  • Define major product metrics
  • Drive improvements in product and development methodology based on empirical evidence
  • Manage post-mortems in order to learn from experiences

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional people leadership skills, strong work ethic, dedication, and desire to succeed, in addition to strong initiative and resourcefulness
  • Technical savvy with a focus on continually improving customer experience and proven ability to multitask, effectively manage and adapt to evolving priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ years relevant experience in product and/or software development
  • 3+ years of experience taking on end-to-end product ownership and successfully delivering results in a dynamic and complex environment; end-to-end product experience includes from specification through design, release and maintenance.
  • Project management including managing multiple projects in various phases, and balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution tasks; Agile development and project management experience a plus
  • Experience with implementing new workflows, building user stories, and managing through business process change
  • Experience with startups a plus
  • Experience with SaaS companies a plus
