Job Description

The IT organization of Sealed Air Corporation is responsible for the life cycle planning of business applications through selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement and disposal.

The Director – Supply Chain manages the applications group that has specific responsibility for building or configuring, maintaining or enhancing, and eventually decommissioning relevant applications through that life cycle.  The Director will be responsible for the execution of future strategy and direction of the portfolio, as well as hold all IT SC application delivery team members accountable for optimizing the cost, risk and value of applications throughout their life cycle.

The position reports directly to the Executive Director of Supply Chain Applications and will be based in Charlotte, NC.

Job Description Cont.

  • Provide leadership, vision and direction to the applications organization to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals.
  • Work with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy.
  • Develop productive relationships with business leaders across the organization to influence how applications can enable new sources of value.
  • Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for the application lifecycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
  • Manage contracts related to Supply Chain applications which includes working with the vendor commercial team to understand, negotiate and right-size contracts.
  • Manage large projects such as ERP rollouts, acquisition activities or new application introduction.

Application Governance, Strategy and Delivery

  • Facilitating the applications governance process to gain consensus on a prioritized set of measurable business outcomes that applications must support.
  • Working with business and IT stakeholders to define a prioritized set of business outcomes and application work to accomplish those outcomes within the limitations of the applications budget.
  • Working with IT stakeholders to accomplish this application work in a way that improves the business and technical fitness of the application portfolio and minimizes its ongoing support costs.
  • Overseeing the applications organization's successful delivery of these business outcomes in partnership with business colleagues.
  • Overseeing support activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the applications perform well in production.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years’ in-depth experience in the SAP Supply Chain domain including but not limited to functions such as purchasing, materials management, inventory management, accounts payable AND/OR production planning or demand planning.
  •  Prefer at least 5 years of that experience leading global work teams and managing budgets.
  • Experience with Readsoft, Perceptive or other AP Automation tools a plus.  Experience with Ariba, PLM systems, R&D tools like AutoCAD/Solidworks a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • University educated (at least BA/ BS)
  • Can work effectively with remote teams
  • Willing to travel 10 % time.

  • Excellent project management, organization, attention to detail, follow-up.  Experience in an agile environment a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion change, influence & drive results in a complex organization
