Job Description

The Executive Director – Enterprise Data Management and Business Intelligence and Reporting manages the applications groups.  Specific responsibilities include building, configuring, maintaining, enhancing, and decommissioning Enterprise Data management and BI applications.  This includes life cycle planning including planning of business applications through selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement and disposal.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the Vision, future strategy and direction of the portfolio including staffing, budgeting and other relevant management functions.  This position is required to hold application delivery teams accountable for optimizing the cost, risk and value of applications throughout their life cycle.

The position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Applications and will be based at our Charlotte, NC Global headquarters.

Job Description Cont.

Leadership and Management

  • Provide leadership, vision and direction to the applications organization to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals.
  • Work with CIO and other IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy.
  • Develop productive relationships with business leaders across the organization to influence how applications can enable new sources of value.
  • Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for the application lifecycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation.
  • Manage applications group personnel, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps.
  • Implement and manage application lifecycle management status reporting, metrics and benchmarks.

Application Governance, Strategy and Delivery

  • Facilitating the applications governance process to gain consensus on a prioritized set of measurable business outcomes that applications must support.
  • Working with business and IT stakeholders to define a prioritized set of business outcomes and application work to accomplish those outcomes within the limitations of the applications budget.
  • Working with IT stakeholders to accomplish this application work in a way that improves the business and technical fitness of the application portfolio and minimizes its ongoing support costs.
  • Overseeing the applications organization's successful delivery of these business outcomes in partnership with business colleagues.
  • Overseeing support activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the applications perform well in production.
  • Working with the chief information security officer (CISO) to ensure that the organization's applications are effectively secured and that risks are mitigated.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15 years’ in-depth experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting and Enterprise Data Management, including but not limited to SAP BW, SAP BW Hana, Business Objects, Open source Big data distribution platforms, in-memory computing, IOT, Machine Learning, etc.
  • At least 5 years of that experience leading global work teams and managing budgets.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • University educated (at least BA/ BS)
  • Can work effectively with remote teams
  • Willing to travel 20 % time.
