As a Research Manager for the experience design organization within Sealed Air, you will deploy your people management skills and research expertise to lead a collaborative and insight-driven team.

 

The individual in this role will be expected to collaborate across a broad matrix of product, technology, marketing, customer service, sales, and brand teams to study and map the unique identities of our current and future customers, derive meaningful customer insights from sources of quantitative and qualitative data, and help identify gaps in the current experiences we deliver, 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and mentor a team of researchers in the experience design organization
  • Lead research tasks and activities, including stakeholder and user interviews, usability testing, etc. 
  • Disseminate research insights to enhance the understanding of user needs and identify innovative opportunities to address the needs
  • Grow the research team to meet Sealed Air and the experience design team’s needs
  • Collaborate with UX, Strategy, and Product teams to transform research derived outcomes into actionable deliverables
  • Work with fellow leaders and business partners to define and drive the long-term strategy and short term tactics
  • Prioritize research needed and address incoming requests against the roadmap and across multiple workstreams
  • Identify learning and development opportunities for your team to grow both personally and enhance their work on a technology driven team
  • Manage research vendors and alignment with your team when necessary

  • Dynamic – Ability to jump between products to understand situation, support needed, and when to directly help or delegate

 

Qualifications

 

  • 7+ years of relevant user research experience 
  • 4+ years of directly managing, coaching, and developing a team of user researchers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have a desire to put the user experience first and know them better than they know themselves
  • Experience managing multiple projects/ workstreams at once
  • Experience building research platforms, systems, or programs
  • Experience driving impact from insights
  • Experience setting expectations and priorities which meet the needs of the company, project, and team
