Job Description

 

This role serves as part of the front-line team to support the site, the regional HR team and the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) communities. The HR Generalist role supports and executes tactical aspects of the HR function, including but not limited to: Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, immigration & relocation); Talent Acquisition (recruiting, new hire on-boarding, orientation), Talent Management (performance management & development), Learning & Organizational Capability (performance management, training delivery & design), Diversity & Inclusion programs coordination, HRIS deployment, government & legislative compliance, good will initiatives. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responding to queries via chat, email or phone and knowing when to escalate to next level HR support including following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Supporting the HR help desk in box to answer questions and maintaining follow up and through regarding:
    • Benefits
    • Payroll
    • Policy 
  • Partnership with internal COE to problem solve on behalf of the employee 
  • Writing, editing and revising official internal communications for population supported
  • Help support virtual orientation to include pre-orientation paperwork and documentation, conducting virtual orientation class and post orientation paperwork and documentation
  • Helping to support COVID tracing, documentation and return to work recommendations
  • Data analysis to diagnose patterns to make recommendations 
  • Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes
  • Maintain close contact with the HR team to ensure alignment with corporate and business unit HR and the HR generalist team
  • Manage specific projects as determined in the HR planning process and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Complete and handle paperwork associated with employee’s life cycle

  • Capacity to understand problems and issues in the context of the bigger picture and understand relationships between processes

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs as well as other HR programs
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; skill in database management and record keeping
  • Experience in presenting orientation or trainings 
  • Ability to perform independently at a high level, self-directed, self-motivated 
  • Ability to manage and process a large volume of voicemail, telephone and e-mail communication on a daily basis 
  • Demonstrated communication skills and follow-through
