Job Summary

 

The Principal IT Solutions Architect will work to ensure technical ownership exists and operates effectively inside each Sealed Air IT solution delivery team working to realize value in a business practice domain.  You will be working within the IT Cloud Operating Model Delivery (COMD) teams which is built upon collaboration among business analysts, developers, security experts, and infrastructure specialists to design, build, validate, deploy, operate and maintain technology solution in a rapid, reliable, repeatable and secure fashion.  The Principal IT Solutions Architect will also be accountable for defining and implementing technical delivery strategies.  By working regularly with IT Solution Delivery Leadership, the Principal IT Solutions Architect will ensure the responsibilities outlined below happen as an integral part of value creation and realization to the enterprise via IT solutions.


 

Responsibilities

 

  • Technical solution design and governance practice expertise in the context of globally distributed (10,000+) user population
  • Technical solution design and governance expertise in the context of Fortune 500 Multinational Enterprise and related regulatory requirements for IT and business practices
  • Technical solution design and governance expertise in the context of industrial manufacturing business practices
  • Integration Architecture
    • Identifies, publishes and communicates technology standards, frameworks, and principles to be used throughout the IT organization for System Integrations via the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
    • Guide system integration decisions and leverage opportunities for reuse of existing services. Drives design for a secure, efficient and flexible platform to handle existing and future state.
    • Researches system integrations architecture best practices and methodologies and determines relevancy to the IT and business organizations. Participates in the life cycle planning of existing integration platforms.
    • Assists other Solution Architects in determining the correct solutions to specific integrations for projects to ensure consistent use throughout the enterprise landscape. Identifies and leverages opportunities across IT to ensure a consistent and efficient framework.
    • Develops the governance of system integration principles and framework to assure compliance to the overall IT strategy.
    • Ensures that exceptions are well justified and analyzes the impact of exceptions across the enterprise application landscape.
  • Develop and maintain IT services and solutions architecture    
    • Assess IT application and infrastructure architecture constraints
    • Assess business constraints on IT service/solution
    • Determine IT component integration requirements
    • Identify opportunities for IT component reuse
    • Promote adoption of existing service/solution architecture
    • Develop and maintain service/solution architectures
    • Assess IT service/solution architecture conformance
    • Manage architectural exceptions
    • Define IT change/release standards
    • Assign deployment approval responsibilities    
    • Analyze deployment outcomes
  • Plan service and solution implementation
    • Assess IT deployment risk                                
    • Define implementation schedule and roll-out sequence tech dependencies
    • Determine implementation technical requirements
  • Manage change deployment control                
    • Assess IT change/release impact            
    • Confirm change/release compliance
    • Assess IT change/release risk        

 

Qualifications

 

  • University educated (BA/BS)
  • 10+ years in-depth experience in relevant IT roles
  • At least 5 years of experience leading and collaborating within global work teams
  • Able to understand complex issues & can clearly articulate complex ideas
  • Excellent project management, organization, attention to detail, & follow-up
  • Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and self-start programs to address
  • Ability to communicate & liaise broadly across functions in a global organization
  • Outcome and value oriented
  • Demonstrates ability to champion change, influence and drive results in an agile organization
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of final solutions
  • Can work effectively with remote teams across multiple time zones
