Job Summary

 

The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for the execution of the company intranet strategy as a core element of the company’s internal communications platform and will lead its day-to-day operation and management. 

 

The position will also take ownership of the company’s weekly newsletter and responsibility for the intranet’s overall success including user adoption and engagement. The successful candidate will work with internal business partners, site authors and content owners to ensure intranet content is relevant and up to date.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain the existing intranet, including refreshing feature stories and promoted content.
  • Manage the weekly employee newsletter, including reporting, writing, editing, developing layout, measurement, as well as managing the editorial calendar.
  • Monitors for comments on intranet stories and responds and or escalates as appropriate.
  • Review and edit content submitted to the Intranet for publication.
  • Drives employee adoption and helps increase engagement of the intranet.
  • Performs frequent audits to ensure content is accurate, appropriate, and adheres to intranet vision and governance.
  • Assists with our Corporate Digital Signage program.
  • Develops, co-owns and helps to execute our new intranet roadmap.
  • Helps monitors site analytics, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and turn data insights into actionable items.
  • Provides coaching and training to intranet users of all different levels.
  • Support internal event communications such as companywide townhalls.
  • Serves as communications strategist for two-way communication program that builds associate understanding of business goals and strategies and how associates support achievement of those strategic goals.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in internal or employee communications
  • Graphic and PowerPoint design skills are preferred, but not required
  • Strong content creation and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of web development and web management tools and intranet platforms such as Adobe AEM, SiteCore or SharePoint
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complex issues and subject matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Professional experience in internal communications
  • Experience developing communications plans and messages for global and multi-language audiences.
  • Experience managing company intranets
  • Experience thinking strategically and planning/executing on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective team player who can lead efforts across teams and fact find effectively
