Job Description

 

The Manger, Mergers & Acquisitions will participate in many aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, and ventures investments from evaluation, execution, and integration. The Manager would also perform roles such as secondary source research, development of industry and company profiles, and other quantitative and qualitative analysis. In this role you should demonstrate maturity and initiative, excellent analytical ability, and strong communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills. Also needed is an understanding of corporate financial analysis and financial statements, the ability to adapt to varied assignments and situations, and a strategic mindset to solve complex problems.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • The position will work closely with senior management at the corporate and regional level to develop M&A strategies and translate such strategies into tactical implementation. 
  • Play a key role in deal execution, including ideation, preliminary evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, and post transaction integration. 
  • Support the internal review of M&A opportunities including valuation and all aspects of due diligence i.e. commercial, technical, financial, legal, operational, human resources, information technology assessments. 
  • Manage multiple cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Participate in negotiations with target company senior level management in order to move merger and acquisition discussions forward, and present identified opportunities to executive level management. 
  • Network and maintain relationships with a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders and external organizations to support the strategies and needs of Sealed Air. 
  • Originate deal ideas in support of business objectives. Monitor the M&A activity, prospects and valuations in the packaging and chemicals industries. 
  • Engage subject matter experts in Legal, Finance, Marketing, and other functions. 
  • Contribute to special projects related to the Company’s overall growth, including the strategic planning process, special project teams, and financial analyses.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA strongly preferred. 
  • 2+ years of professional experience within Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Transaction Advisory.
  • Hands on experience in the execution of a variety of deal structures including acquisitions, divestitures, investments, joint ventures, and licensing agreements.
  • Position requires experience managing the due diligence process and a successful track record as a negotiator. 
  • Experience in valuation techniques, accounting, and financing. 
  • The position requires experience with strategy development and execution, and with project management leading cross-functional teams. 
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
