Summary

The role is to support the Innovation & Development mission which includes the development and delivery of innovative, sustainable, robust, and cost-effective product solutions in alignment with the Division Strategy. As an Innovation Engineer, you will be responsible for the conception, design, fabrication, and commissioning of lab scale and production process equipment. Responsibilities

• Proven and proficient machine design skills using both 3D and 2D platforms. This candidate must
be able to work alone or in a team environment with engineer(s) and other designer(s) to
identify, formulate, and implement design solutions.
• Generate and document all elements of the equipment design packages
• Leverage your knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial controls to develop high
throughput, high quality, and efficient process equipment.
• Work independently or with a cross functional team to develop your project scope, budget, and
timelines to execute projects which delight internal customers and exceed expectations.
• Identify / evaluate latest technologies that can be incorporated into our processes to improve
yield, increase throughput, and/or reduce cost.
• Work with I&D and business leaders to identify key technology gaps and opportunities associated
with business division innovation pipelines; execute a strategy to develop technologies and
commercialize.
• Position will require travel in support of Sealed Air production facilities and at customer sites.
• Effectively lead projects, ensuring the right technical resources are utilized and projects are
completed in an agreed upon timeframe.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships in industry and academia relative to new
technologies.
• Able to work globally with appropriate sensitivities to cultures, businesses, etc.
• Stay at the forefront of technology to maintain competitiveness.
• Personal safety and the safety of others; maintain a safe and incident-free working environment

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degrees
• Minimum 6+ years of experience with manufacturing equipment design.
• Candidate engineers should also have strong 3D design skills and experience with computer aided
engineering tools such as SolidWorks, Matlab, FEA / CFD Simulation, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively apply technical and project management skills to successfully
execute multi-million-dollar projects
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with extrusion
technologies, high speed automation, or web handling is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, take initiative and
drive for results to exceed customer expectations.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills, a collaborative work style and ability to
effectively work with an interdisciplinary team
• Must be willing to occasionally travel internationally.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to influence company and business strategy and decisions,
to motivate high performance and negotiate win-win scenarios.
• Business acumen and ability to collaborate effectively across functions, regions, and business
divisions to drive results and ensure goal delivery.
• Establishes clear priorities and is enthusiastic about delivering accurate and timely results that
add value.
