Job Summary

 

The Scrum Master position is a key role within the Agile organization and acts as the facilitator for an Agile team. They are responsible for helping the team embrace and implement Agile values and practices. This individual is motivated by the teams they support and holds a relentless drive for improvement and continuous flow. The Scrum Master is the team level coach and nurtures a high-performance environment by removing impediments, reinforcing specific Agile practices and techniques. They will work with cross functional team members to support key feature development in a B2B industry and will contribute to the Scrum Master Community of Practice.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Facilitates all team Scrum Events, creation of & adherence to team agreements such as Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD) and other working agreements / best practices
  • Deeply understands the product domain, organizational vision and socializes this knowledge to all Scum team members 
  • Serves the team by protecting them from distractions and complacency, removes impediments and enables them to create high value products
  • Guide the creation and management of a backlog effectively by partnering with Product Owners and Business Analysts to maximize value
  • Manage User Story / Defect lifecycles and workflows in tools such as Jira and/or Wrike
  • Provide coaching, training and leadership to peers and team members alike, specifically around self-organization and problem-solving techniques
  • Stay current on new methodologies, tools, capabilities, and changes in the market

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years’ experience executing as a Scrum Master or Agile leader in a fast-paced environment 
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Project Manager or similar PMO position 
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting software delivery teams 
  • Holds a CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP or similar certification 
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development life cycle 
  • Ability to confidently navigate the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence) 

 

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of delivering results with minimum supervision
  • Ability to influence both leaders and team members alike and act as an Agile evangelist
  • Exposure to scaled B2B eCommerce platforms 
  • Familiar with SAFe, XP, Kanban, Nexus frameworks
  • Analytical, critical thinking, time management, and task management skills
  • Contributes to the Agile Community of Practice and Center of Excellence
  • Knowledge and successful application of Servant Leadership 
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to champion change, influence & drive results in a complex organization
  • A mind toward innovation in an organization that enables team to innovate, drive change, and bring revenue to the organization
