As part of the global communications team, the Senior Manager of Executive Communications & Community Investment is responsible for developing and managing communications strategies that position Sealed Air and its executives as thought leaders among a wide range of key stakeholders including employees, the media, opinion leaders and customers. The Senior Manager is responsible for building and executing executive communications programs for Sealed Air’s top leadership voices. He or she will write and develop content to support these strategic programs including speeches, scripts, blogs and social media content. In addition to a focus on executive communications, this role is responsible for supporting Sealed Air’s key community investment programs and partnerships. This work includes building relationships with new and existing partners, managing partnership requests, conducting research, tracking and measuring program success and other tasks as needed. This role works closely with Sealed Air’s media relations/public relations, marketing and sustainability & advocacy teams to create compelling stories to advance the company’s overall reputation.
• Manages and implements the executive communications strategy and plans for Sealed Air’s top leadership voices.
• Develops executive communications messages in written, video, audio and digital formats for internal and external audiences; includes managing C-Suite executive social media handles.
• Provides communications counsel and support to executives including preparation for speaking engagements through the development of briefing memos, talking points, speeches and scripts.
• Manages and builds relationships with community partners, reviews proposals and develops content to support the company’s community investment strategy.
• Proactively provides communication plan and project results and makes use of metrics to inform future communication projects.
• Partners closely with global communications & community engagement teammates to ensure alignment with global priorities and plans, learn what’s working elsewhere and apply best practices.
Required Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, government relations, marketing or related area of study.
• 8 years of demonstrated experience in communications, community relations or related field supporting a global company or organization.
• Proven experience creating compelling written content that consistently and authentically captures leadership voices amongst diverse audiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to form positive relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and in the community.
• Ability to collect and manage data to support research and measurement on partner and program success.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to successfully handle multiple ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Flexible, adaptable and thrives working in quickly-changing, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in crafting messages for an executive on social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
• Strong presentation skills and a desire to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience in the packaging, consumer goods/retail or food industries (preferred, not required)
