Quality Control Tech

Responsibilities: Monitors the quality of manufactured goods produced and/or stored in the facility. This is done several ways, including:

  • Conducting tests of products to ensure they are being produced according to specification.  (See CoEx Spec Manual, Jiffylite Spec Manual, and Tuffgard Spec Manual (If applicable).  Testing includes but is limited to, COF, Creep, Static Decay, Seam Strength, Self-Seal, Bubble Height, Unit Weight, etc.
  • Inspects products returned by customers
  • Data entry and filing of quality reports
  • Communicating with production and warehouse personnel about quality issues and solutions
  • Test equipment calibration
  • Follow up quality training (observation, evaluation, communication to production management, and retraining when necessary.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Quality Manager regarding quality related issues and activities occurring in the plant.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read digital and analog gauges
  • Ability to understand and apply specifications
  • Data analysis

Tasks:

  • Record quality reports and test results on electronic database and alert management to materials that do not meet specification
  • Measurement of products (size, thickness, density, etc.) with various gauges
  • Strength tests
  • Static decay tests
  • Friction tests
  • Thickness
  • Segregate non-conforming material and alert management
  • Discuss material defects and test results with operators in order to resolve quality issues
  • Measurement device calibration
