Summary

Working closely with development engineers, field service engineers and the sales team, you will have opportunities to conduct lab tests, field trials and closely interface with customers to see our designs in action. The overall objective of the I&D Equipment Engineering Group is to conceptualize, develop and commercialize industrial food packaging solutions delivering value to our customers, and supporting the growth of the global Sealed Air Total Business. Using the latest technology and state of the art tools, this role will be crucial for launching product offerings that move our customers into new areas of automation and technology.

Responsibilities
  • Software, electrical controls, power and integration research, design and development.
  • PLC, HMI, VFD and Servo programming for new designs and support of legacy systems.
  • System integration of various packaging and networking/IoT equipment controls, both SEE designs, and third party designs.
  • Drive technical advancements in conceptualization, layout, design, in-house testing, field-qualification and documentation.
  • Support supply chain for component and sub-system obsolescence and technology upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards such as NEC and NFPA79.
  • Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, and documentation.
  • Assist with field troubleshooting with root cause analysis and closed loop corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5-10 years of relevant industrial controls experience demonstrating a history of creating innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.  
  • Proficiency with Rockwell PLC software products (RS Logix 500/5000, Studio) and/or other similar industrial controls software products.
  • Proficiency with Draftsight or AutoCAD 2D schematic packages.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA79.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international.
  • Servo motion design and programming experience.
  • Experience designing equipment for harsh environments.
  • Knowledge of Omron PLC devices and software.
  • Familiarity with UL and CE regulations.
