Job Description

Program includes up to 3 sessions in either the Co-Op or internship employment arrangement. For example, the Co-Op typically works 3 alternating semesters. Sealed Air Corporation has a strong history of successful co-op and internship placements within the organization. The global Research and Development (R&D) leadership team supports this avenue to build our next generation of leaders in science and engineering. Our positions could include experiences such as: l plan and conduct laboratory research projects in areas of food or medical packaging, protective packaging, or hygiene and cleaning needs l work with Application Experts in their field l member of a project team. Each session of the program is developed to be a project assignment. The participant will do a formal presentation to higher level leadership about the outcomes at the end of the session. Participating in a co-op or internship at Sealed Air also increases your chances of being chosen as a new hire into our Technical Leadership Program (TLP) as a regular employee upon completion of education.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct experiments for the development of new products and processes under the direction of an experience scientist or engineer
  • Apply area of study for development of new products and processes
  • Analyze results and assist with decision-making for next steps
  • Prepare and modify engineering drawings for ongoing projects
  • Prepare reports and present results at technical meetings

Qualifications

  • Completed at least 1.5 years towards a Bachelor's degree
  • 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
  • Strong academic record
  • Knowledgeable about general lab and machine shop practices
  • Creative and a strong problem solver
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to provide own transportation to the internship/co-op location (public transportation options are limited or not available)
