What is this role responsible for?

 

The Systems and Integration Engineer is responsible for promoting customization and integration solutions in support of internal and external customer equipment projects and the sales team in relation to "One Sealed Air" efforts in France and the EMEA region.  

 

Key deliverables in this role: 

 

  • Defining, developing, promoting, selling and delivering packaging solutions for customers in a matrix environment in cooperation with the Sales, Service, Application, and Euro Equipment Functions teams and portfolio.
  • Leading customer equipment projects and acting as a 'general contractor' for holistic systems integration solutions for Sealed Air’s customers (including systems and solutions from multiple suppliers) which includes being responsible for design, conceptualization, prototyping and testing of new touchless solutions.
  • Developing and designing equipment layout/solutions based on clearly defined customer expectations, needs, project specifications and project scope.
  • In collaboration with EMEA Marketing / Portfolio and System and Integration Managers, identifying customer’s needs and requirements, determining potential equipment solutions which includes the following: information and intelligence gathering; providing sketches, lay-outs, drawings, project descriptions and project plans including cost and revenue of project.
  • Driving (in close collaboration with the division sales team) preparation of quotations/offers (including value argumentation/financial analysis), negotiations, and closing of systems integration customer projects.
  • Selecting external partners, build the project team, coordinate the order and deliver the equipment solutions in line with project specifications, timing and budget and when appropriate, with the Systems Integration team or Nijmegen (System Solution Support).
  • Coordinating installation and training of customer equipment projects with the Service and Application Team. 
  • 'Shepherding' new systems integration equipment solutions into the field.
  • Providing customer feedback to equipment development and equipment marketing to adapt and optimize our equipment fleet to the market needs.

 

What does the "ideal" candidate look like?

 

  • The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and 3+ years’ of directly related work experience; preferably in the packaging sector
  • The individual must also be an effective communicator, fluent in French and English, capable of communicating at all levels throughout the organization. 
  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently, mostly in Europe to Sealed Air location and client/supplier sites.
  • Must be able to work effectively on projects with cross-functional team and independently with little to no supervision, capable of managing and being accountable for one's own workplan, setting and maintaining goals and adapting priorities as required.
  • Must have a strong engineering/technical background, organizational, & problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong project leadership experience and/or project management skills with the ability to lead several projects in parallel and effectively drive multiple disciplines at the same.
  • Must have prior customer and client relationship experiences.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including DraftSight/ SolidWorks, MS Office, MS Projects, MS Access or other PC based databases.
