About the role:

The purpose of creating this position is to service, maintain and grow the customer base in the designated sales territory via sale of Cryovac products and equipment and systems, and to service a wide variety of customers within the Region in our Food Care Division. This role will also ensure that the sales activities present Sealed Air/ Cryovac as a highly professional competent and ethical company to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieve maximum sales at highest margin returns.
  • Service, maintain and grow designated customer base.
  • Plan daily, weekly, and annual objectives and activities to maximize customer contact and effectiveness.
  • Develop business relationship with key decision makers to further our business interests.
  • Service customer order and delivery requirements to optimize customer satisfaction within, product lead time guidelines.
  • Maximize company profitability by margin maximization and implementation of price changes.
  • Creation, implementation, and monitoring of progress of meaningful business plans for major/significant customers within designated territory.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting of customer requirements via designated methods.
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding Debtors and the enforcement of Sealed Air trading terms.
  • Make presentations to customers and co-ordinate training of customer personnel as appropriate.
  • Provide reports as requested, on time, with the accuracy and detail required for the purpose including audits.
  • Maintain and update all record systems such as price book, customer files and product releases.
  • Support key marketing thrusts with appropriate sales development/trial programs.
  • Gain business at targeted new accounts within pricing/margin guidelines.
  • Support key marketing and new product programs (MPU’s) and gain business at targeted new accounts with pricing margin guidelines.
  • Identify potential equipment sales opportunities and follow-up with proposals and quotations to secure equipment sales.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary level qualification and Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated Food Packaging Account Management experience.
  • Demonstrated and proven ability: Insight selling process and structure.
  • Demonstrated proven ability to build and nurture customer relationships.
  • Food industry and/or plastic packaging products/equipment experience.
  • Travel within state to regional sales opportunities as required.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Power-point, Excel, SAP etc.
  • Able to demonstrate high level of decision-making skills.
  • Ability to cold call on new end-user opportunities.
  • Comfortable working in a large organization with a matrix organizational structure.
  • Systems and policy knowledge an advantage for: SAP and Cryovac code of conduct
  • Computer applications; Word, Excel & PowerPoint
