About the role:

Business Development Manager specializing in selling Sealed Air Food Equipment and Automation. Management of all aspects of the Equipment sales process including initial scoping and identifying of opportunities in existing key customers operations and new prospects within the food processing sectors. Conduct technical evaluations, commercial feasibility analysis and presenting professional proposals. Achieve sales targets, be responsible and accountable for all related project management processes. Lead and manage all negotiations with customers bringing projects to a successful conclusion. Work with both internal and external partners to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for Food Packaging Equipment sales targets nationally
  • Develop and grow Food Equipment Automation pipeline
  • Conduct feasibility analysis for customer investment ROI & SEE margin attainment
  • Writing professional business proposals to ensure the appropriate financial analysis for capital investments has been undertaken and all projects meet SEE financial expectations
  • Work through RFQ and tenders from clients
  • Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • As an Automation Specialist, review customers process and recommend opportunities to improve current process
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts & sign-off with customers
  • Contacting leads and conducting meetings with new business prospects
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to add value and increase business growth opportunities across other portfolios
  • Negotiating and coordinating with high value customers. Positioning SEE solutions as the investment of choice instead of the competition.
  • Provide support to the national sales team to identify business opportunities and convert them into revenue.
  • Self-sourcing leads and securing new business opportunities, through industry research and networking extensive list of industry contacts

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a Technical, Commercial, Business or Marketing preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience, including Capital Equipment Sales involving complex solution selling, management of negotiations with both internal and external stake holders within a Food Packaging or Food Processing business.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Capital Equipment Sales in or Food Packaging or related environment
  • At least 3 years B2B sales experience, preferably in Food environment
  • Proven record of securing new business at new customers
  • Above average computer skills to manipulate information and present it in a format to reinforce the message (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of the levers that lead to the improvement of Customer and Product profitability.
  • Proven project management skills
  • 2D and 3D CAD skills an advantage.
  • SAP experience/aptitude an advantage.
  • Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel interstate for short periods of time (1-2 weeks).
