Job Summary:

Reporting to the Global Director of SFS Technology & Operations, the Purchsing Manager leads a team responsible for negotiating and concluding the purchase of any product or service necessary for the company and its proper functioning under the best conditions of quality, price and time. Ensuring better profitability of production, this team is critical for Sealed Air in finding the best suppliers, developing them, and managing them for optional performance.  

Key Deliverables for this role:

  • Managing the operations of the purchasing department 
  • Controlling the supplier panel and proposing strategies to permanently improve their Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance.
  • Negotiating purchases under optimal conditions of price, deadlines and quality.
  • Monitoring suppliers and resolve problems or disputes
  • Analyzing and processing purchase requests issued by the various departments.
  • Identifying improvement actions to anticipate and control supplier risks

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Supplier Development/Management:
    • Consulting suppliers, selecting them and negotiating the best economic conditions of purchase, in the respect of the defined technical specifications
    • Negotiate directly with the company's key service providers and suppliers, particularly in the implementation of framework agreements.
    • Ensuring, according to a scheduled or unscheduled rhythm, the renegotiation of framework agreements according to the performance of suppliers, market developments and the company's needs.
    • Periodically auditing suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the sustainability of their activity, their production capacity and the quality of their supplies and services
    • Monitoring the proper integration of service providers and suppliers upstream and downstream of the company's production processes. -    
    • Ensuring the proper implementation of negotiated contractual conditions and arbitrate any disputes.
  • End to end management of the purchasing process:
    • Processing purchase requests and establish orders and transmit them to suppliers
    • Trackung the status of orders and record related documents (acknowledgement of receipt, delivery note, order receipt),
    • Maintaining stock levels within the limits defined by management to avoid shortages or excesses. 
    • Following up on delivery schedules of purchases in relation to operational schedules and activity forecasts.
    • Processing non-conformity files
    • Maintaining up-to-date information systems (supplier data, pricing, etc.)
    • Giving the "Bon à payer" for supplier invoices
  • Provide leadership for the purchasing department consisting of:
    • Managing the operation of the Purchasing Department, instructing and providing guidace to the team to ensure timely execution against deliverables
    • Ensuring the training and development of the team's skills according to individual and collective objectives
    • Ensuring the organization of the team and the maintenance of the department's activity
    • Implement procedures, methodologies and tools to improve the overall performance of the purchasing department (information systems, e-procurement projects, supplier evaluation grids, quality standards, outsourcing choices, etc.)
    • Seting up and monitoring KPIs (key performance indicators), both quantitative and qualitative.
    • Ensuring communication and link with all the company's business departments in order to promote the integration of purchasing projects within the company.
    • Continuously monitoring costs and the purchasing budget.
    • Ensuring reporting to the general management and the company's business departments.


What we are seeking:

An individual capable of leading and developing high-performance teams, someone multi-lingual in English and French, with the ideal candidate having advanced education credentials and at least 4+ years of prior experience leading a purchasing team within a multi-national corporation. Working knowledge of Focus or SAP is a plus but not required.
