Job Description
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Health and safety professional to join our Hamilton team as an EHS Training Coordinator. In this role you will ensure a high standard of safety across all divisions, overall operations and products, to safeguard our employees, assets, customers and any other stakeholder.
As part of your role, you will implement and ensure compliance in company policy, specifically pertaining to safety i.e. IMS/ISO 9001, HACCP, Workcover, ACC WSMP and other relevant legislative and accreditation requirements. Another key aspect of this role is to foster an environment of continuous improvement for all health and safety processes and protocols while also providing direction, support and training to all employees.
Some of the key focus areas for this role includes:
- Conducting safety audits of buildings, facilities, tools and equipment
- Determining safety training requirements and providing employees with safety training applicable to their work processes while ensuring accurate training records are maintained
- Investigating accidents to determine the root cause, circumstances, and contributing factors
- Developing recommendations and following up to prevent accident recurrence
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulation
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of working experience within a similar role and/or industry. You will possess a high standard of communication and problem-solving skills with a passion for the continuous improvement of health and safety practices.
