Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that our products provide a high level of quality that meets customer expectation. The Quality Engineer will implement systems that measure plant quality performance and design processes that identify quality related issues throughout the manufacturing process.  In addition, this role will formulate quality policies and procedures as well as conducting training on quality concepts and tools; they will also interface with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain quality management systems in all manufacturing processes, specially the Food Safety and Quality Codes for SQF (Safety Quality Food Standard)
  • Analyze, identify, and implement manufacturing process improvements which will improve overall capability and performance.
  • Create and maintain company documentation, such as quality manuals, and quality procedures.
  • Troubleshoot problems or flaws in materials provided for testing.
  • Meet with members of the production team to offer recommendations and share results.
  • Maintain and control calibration records for all test and inspection equipment.
  • Perform tests and measurements using existing measurement equipment.
  • Participate in teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to all process related issues in the production department.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferable Chemical Engineering)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality System development and implementation

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge in SQF Standard (SQF Practitioner preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Lean/Six-Sigma principles
  • Strong knowledge of SPC applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management
  • Lean Six Sigma certified green or black belt preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects simultaneously
