Job Description
To supervise the production floor to ensure optimum efficiency and productivity on shift.
Responsibilities
1. To ensure that good quality is being produced constantly on the machines at standard rates, yields.
2. Ensure that the ISO 9001:2015 Standards are maintained in the factory.
3. Ensure that the Health and Safety (HAS) procedures are always followed and adhered to.
4. To effectively maintain the workflow of the scheduled jobs to be produced.
5. To coach, guide and instruct employees to improve their performance.
6. Always maintain good housekeeping standards in the factory.
7. Report any problems experienced on the machines or accidents.
8. Time management of themselves as well as factory staff.
9. Responsible for continues training and improvement of all factory staff.
10. Ensure that all production orders have the correct raw material quantities processed.
11. Report any deviation from the standard material or hours in order to rectify.
12. Ensure that all raw material returns (RTS) is done at the end of each production order.
13. Ensure that all finished goods are correctly labelled daily and ready for dispatch.
14. Update the daily production log daily.
15. Maintain process documents and utilities, i.e. production log sheets, labels, printing ribbons, maintenance request books, knife blades, stationary etc,
16. Investigate and report suspect production variances on a weekly basis.
17. Job responsibilities may include tasks other than the above specified, but that are within reasonable request, as required by the department Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
• Minimum Matric/Grade 12
• Higher Certificate or Diploma in Operations/Production Management – Advantageous
• Background in Printing, Lamination and Bagmaking processes - Advantageous
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in supervision
• Knowledge of the use of computer programs / process simulation packages including SAP and SYMPLE
• Good computer skills with MS Office programs
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility to work shifts, overtime and weekend work
• Accurate and precision
• Great housekeeping ability
