Job Description

Eligible to receive $1000 Sign on Bonus

I.  Basic Functions:
•    Hands-on leader of a 24/7 maintenance operation with 15+ reports in a diverse, high-paced plastic extrusion and converting operation. 

•    Purchase parts to maintain spare parts crib, and source vendors for replacement parts. Ensuring parts are readily available for needed repairs. 

•    Manage the status of machine repairs daily and between shifts to include identifying and highlighting key issues related to safety, quality, performance and reliability of the plant’s equipment.  
•    Assign work, manage overtime and the on-call schedule to maximize equipment up-time. 
•    Drive adoption and adherence to company safe work principles and practice. 
•    Implement equipment and process solutions in response to KPI action triggers.
•    Lead and train the maintenance department using your solid technical background and craftsman work practices. To include hands-on repair work and tasks as required.
•    Purchase parts to maintain spare parts crib, and source vendors for replacement parts. Ensuring parts are readily available for needed repairs. 

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Provides leadership to team which includes following Performance Management System, setting expectations that align to our business objectives and providing routine feedback on performance.
•    Monitors team performance and audits activities to ensure personnel are performing safe, quality work.
•    Works with area improvement teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades
•    Own their area's development program which includes training, education, and hands-on experience.
•    Responsible for enforcing safe working principles and workplace organization (WPO). 
•    Encourage Production Teams to push for Proactive Maintenance vs Reactive Maintenance habit by elevating issues before breakdown happen and avoid the “Fix it Now” situation
•    Assist the craftsmen in troubleshooting difficult electrical and mechanical discrepancies to determine the best corrective action.
•    Communicates with the engineering team on the status of equipment including current and future repairs and equipment concerns.
•    Other duties as assigned.

III.    Skills and requirements:

•    2 - 5 years industrial maintenance management experience within a manufacturing environment.
•    Experience in industrial electronics including troubleshooting and calibration on electronic instruments, DC and AC drives, temperature controllers, PLCs, etc.  Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs preferred.
•    Experience in mechanical maintenance techniques including pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission systems to include bearing and roller replacement and alignment. 
•    Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks.
•    Proficient with MS Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•    Experience in Plastics extrusion and converting preferred.
•    Must provide own tools.
