Shift- 8am-4:30pm

Job Description

GML - Maintenance Supervisor

Hands-on leader for three shift maintenance operation with 6 reports.

Maintain equipment and facilities through work order system, and preventative maintenance program.

Manage daily equipment repairs and adjustments.

Purchase parts to maintain spare parts crib, and source vendors for replacement parts.

Responsible for assigning work, managing overtime, and on-call schedule.

Troubleshoot equipment performance issues. 

Report on equipment downtime utilizing maintenance performance program, participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Support production and safety guidelines.

 

Skills:

Experience in industrial maintenance with emphasis on plastic film extrusion equipment and web lamination and control.

Experience with motors, drives, and general electrical troubleshooting.

Facilities experience including HVAC, plumbing, hoists, building and grounds, security and fire controls.

Demonstrated focus on safety, and working in a lean manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide Organizational Leadership in a Dynamic and Collaborative Environment
  • Promote a safe environment and ensure maintenance personnel always work in a safe manner.
  • Perform as a leader in a manufacturing facility, providing coaching, support, and direction to a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Conduct regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members via appraisals and/or other documentation.
  • Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution.
  • Provide maintenance leadership to ensure department/plant goals are met or exceeded in critical success areas (Cost/Quality/Sanitation/System Performance/Customer Service/Health/Safety/Environment).
  • Manage daily staffing and effective resource allocation including labor, repair parts, and outside services.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
  • Track departmental budget and as applicable take appropriate actions to ensure that departmental budget goals are achieved.
  • Work and/or attend meetings during other shifts (including off-shifts and/or weekends) as necessary.
  • Create, update, train, and post Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in an industrial, technical, or management field.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience - (2-3 years)
  • Previous exposure to controls and PLC/HMI programming

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Management preferred.
  • Green Belt Certification
  • Strong team-building and individual development skills.
  • Familiarity of LOTO procedures and best practices.
  • High mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma principles and application.
  • Usage of Microsoft Windows and Office environments required; SAP a plus

Additional Responsibilities

  • Approve and monitor time cards as well as vacation requests and calendar to ensure sufficient coverage at all times.
  • Work closely with production management to get required machine downtime.
  • Demonstrate Technical Mastery of Self and Organization
  • Obtain in-depth understanding of technical manufacturing processes and ensure that team is progressively developing technical expertise.
  • Consistently demonstrate understanding of core mechanical technologies, including fasteners, lubrication, drives, motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical/controls.
  • Develop and audit current preventive maintenance and spare parts associated with assigned area.
  • Function as a maintenance resource in areas of engineering design.
  • Interface with project teams on new capital projects as required.
  • Effectively manage work order planning and execution processes.
  • Facilitate effective sharing of information across business teams, functional areas, and outside contractors.
  • Drive continuous improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment.
  • Effectively track and report maintenance measurement data in accordance with plant objectives.
  • Additional duties as assigned
