Job Description

The PLC (Program Logic Controller) Technician, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, and programming a wide variety of PLCs and panel views as well as providing technical support to production personnel. You will also perform repairs on support equipment, buildings, fixtures and systems.

  • Editing PLC program and servo, robotic or motor control parameters.
  • Perform advance troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic motor drive systems.
  • Support new projects for new lines, upgrades, or improvements.
  • Interface with vendors on install or upgrade of existing equipment.
  • Install and troubleshoot variable frequency drives.


  • PLC technician educational courses and programs integrate PLC programming with mechanics, electronics and process controls. Coursework in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, DCS, SCADA, electrical circuits, electrical machinery and human-machine interfaces, electrical motor controls, programmable logic controllers, and computer-aided design.
  • 2-year Technical Degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • 3-year experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of 480v Electrical Power Distribution Systems and extrusion and conversion processes.


  • General knowledge and troubleshooting of Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC with in depth knowledge of Siemens PLC’s HMI’s CPU’s.
  • Site support and software commissioning of Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Possess good communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical manuals and electrical schematics
  • Possess the ability to follow, observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be a self- starter, capable of working with limited supervision.
