Finance Assistant (temporary)

Main Function of the Post

 

Post all UK bank transactions and reconcile the bank daily. Process purchase invoices and cash transactions for the German office and to assist the European accountant in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.

Principal Accountabilities

 

 

1.    Enter all cash received onto IFS for the UK and reconcile the bank statement on a daily basis to the IFS system.

2.    Process German purchase invoices.

a)    Post all invoices and related ledger entries (including expenses).
b)    Operating regular payment runs as appropriate.
c)    Reconcile monthly supplier statements to the creditor’s ledger & investigate any discrepancies.
d)    Resolve supplier invoice queries
e)    Prepare month-end supplier invoice accruals 


3.    Enter all German cash received and paid onto IFS and reconcile the bank statement on a daily basis to the IFS system.

4.    Assist the European accountant in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including:

a)    Reconciliation of suspense accounts
b)    Employee expenses provisions
c)    Late purchase invoice provisions
d)    Intercompany reconciliations
e)    AP and AR reconciliations


In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post holder is required to perform any other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the manager above, from time to time.
