What does a Field Service Technician do?

Sealed Air Australia is looking for a motivated and experienced Field Service Technician/Engineer to join our equipment service team. The Service Engineer role is located in Queensland and reports to National Equipment Technical Manager - Food Packaging.

 

Your primary responsibility is to service our customers in Queensland, using your A grade electrical license and excellent mechanical aptitude and field service engineer experience and excellent interpersonal skills for the installation, commissioning, servicing and training on the complete range of Sealed Air packaging equipment. Carry out emergency breakdown repairs on our customer’s Sealed Air equipment. Contribute to equipment sales and proposals, material and equipment audits, systems applications projects and competitor analysis.

  • To use your demonstrated equipment installation experience and mechanical ability in packaging machinery to supervise the installation / commissioning of Sealed Air equipment into the customer’s packaging plant.
  • To maintain the equipment servicing requirements and reporting of all Sealed Air equipment within allocated responsibility
  • Your proven communication skill is critical to manage the emergency breakdown repairs to customer’s equipment.
  • Computer literacy is essential especially with word and excel to do Customer invoicing for servicing equipment and spare parts and Conduct material and equipment audits with the Sales Department.
  • Develop a strong customer service relationship to expand our existing equipment and service business.
  • Control the spare parts stock and manage the service tools kits for your allocated state responsibility.
  • Strict compliance to Sealed Air OHS policies including Risk Assessment, JSA’s, SOP’s, JSRA’s etc.
  • Prepare and distribute customer service reports for all service work undertaken.
  • Maintain and update all record systems relating to our customer’s equipment.
  • Your independence and flexibility is essential to perform in a sole charge position with frequent travel away from home on a regular basis as well as ability to work flexible hours and days which include weekends on a roster style basis
