Job Summary

The North American Regional Channel Sales Manager role will be critical to expanding our business, leveraging our broad network of distributors to build greater success than we ever have for our end customers, our distributors and Product Care. How we serve, enable and keep ourselves accountable to our channel partners- and them to us – is paramount to our ability to grow and deliver transformational value to our businesses. 

 

The Regional Channel Sales Manager role reports directly to the Regional Channel Director. This position directs and oversees channel sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. Sets short- and long-term channel sales strategies within their markets and evaluates effectiveness of current programs that align with the overall Product Care strategy. This role will lead and manage regional Channel Partners in conjunction with close collaboration with Territory Business Managers to ensure success in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Drives Strategy – Continuously reviews, updates and executes upon a Channel Strategy that aligns with overall Product Care strategy; responsible to evaluate, develop and implement regional channel strategies as agreed with Regional Channel Directors;  participate, build and execute the distributor segmentation model that will allow us to build programs by segment in order to optimize our channel network for best performance; strategically review our channel landscape using the segmentation and be responsible for channel partner selection and de-selection strategies within their geographies 
  • Channel Sales & Relationships – Responsible to call on multi-million dollar channel partners, selling to President / Owner levels; maintain strong relationships through systematic contact with top channel partners in geography; provide leadership in new channel partner recruitment and enablement.
  • Demonstrates Market and Solution Knowledge – Understands and clearly articulates full suite of Sealed Air Product Care Solutions, products, campaigns and programs to leaders, teams and key customers; understands sector/industry needs and economic drivers, and provides key strategic customer feedback and insights back to support partners to strengthen solution suite in marketplace. 
  • Leads Channel Planning and Growth – Leads and drives the development of the growth plans for their regional channel network; ensures adequate performance management of these growth plans with their Territory Business Manager teams and their channel partners.
  • Collaborates across the organization – the Channel Manager team will be the “one face” of Sealed Air to our channel partners; to be successful strong collaboration is required with Marketing, Portfolio, Inside Sales Team, Outside Sales Team, Sales Operations, Customer Service and others that are key in working and support the channel.
  • Manages Administrative Duties – Ensures team leverages all tools to fullest extent and completes key administrative tasks such as pricing, CRM reporting, rebate and promotion coordination, customer relationship and activity reporting, budgeting, travel and expenses.
  • Participates in Corporate Programs – Actively executes corporate programs and campaigns, complies with professional quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Sealed Air’s values and ethical standards.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other business-related field
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years professional sales experience, preferably in Channel Management
  • Bilingual is preferred - ability to speak and write in a professional proficiency in English and French
  • Ability to drive moderate to long distances
  • Ability to travel for overnight stays up to 30% of the time
  • Active passport to travel to the U.S.; coverage area is Ontario, Quebec, NY and Cleveland 
  • Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Additional Qualification to Stand Out

  • Experience in managing a channel distribution network including large national multi-location partners
  • Demonstrated ability to champion change/influence teams, motivate teams, and drive results in a complex organization
  • Proven track record of working with, leading and coaching sales teams and closing business 
  • Experience with distribution model sales and direct to customer sales
  • Excellent relationship building skills that that drive results 
  • Management experience in coaching and leading others
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intellectually curious, analytical, strong attention to detail, self-motivated
