What will you do in this role?


The System Solution Support Engineer supports the European service organization responsible for the refurbishment of packaging systems, testing new applications, providing training, customizing existing system solutions and developing and realizing system automation and integration projects (M2M).

Key deliverables:


  • Identifying, developing, realizing and customizing existing packaging systems within our customer network. Fully involved in designing, conceptualizing prototyping and testing new solutions.
  • Providing (technical) support to the European service organization responsible for  custom projects; includes providing training courses, making visits, supporting via telephone/email, and providing support through installations and after-market sales
  • Assisting with identifying automation and integration solutions on a project by project basis; including collecting information and intelligence, providing sketches, layouts, drawings, planning and cost management
  • Maintaining contact with external partners and suppliers for custom projects regarding all technical and product (quality) issues
  • Partnering with or working closely with the Systems and Integration Team (Customization & Integration Project Manager)
  • Ensuring a clean and safe work environment in compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Supporting collaboration efforts with System Solution Support team members; which includes performing quality checks on existing packaging systems, receiving, assessing and refurbishing used packaging systems
  • Providing support (source of information and troubleshooting) for the European Service Organization on technical projects

What does the ideal candidate look like?


  • Bachelors level or technical degree/certification (MBO level 4) Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a directly related technical degree
  • 2+ years of directly related work experience is ideal or an equivalent combination of education and experience within directly related university work programs (i.e. - internships, apprenticeships, etc)
  • Strong communication skills are required (in both English and Dutch) 
  • Experience with Solidworks/CAD or equivalent design software/programs is ideal; Candidates without this would need to have a willingness and capability to learn applicable software quickly
  • Individual should be responsible, customer-oriented, and capable of working within a team and independently 
  • Individuals who gravitate to "hand-on" work and have a knack for troubleshooting and leading efforts for proactive problem-solving would really enjoy this role  
  • Prior experience working on electro-mechanical technical projects is preferred.
  • Prior design experience in a production environment for advanced manufacturing methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of materials and general production processes for industrial equipment is an advantage
  • An individual interested in and capable of occasional overnight travel overnight is required.
