What does a Service Engineer do?

The Senior Service Engineer is responsible for providing maintenance activities for our Sealed Air fleet of equipment installed at our customer/client sites. 

 

 

 

Why do we need you?

To use your experience and knowledge to:

  • Install our packaging solutions, assist customers during post-sales phase in resolving any technical issues.
  • Actively contribute to the promotion of our equipment range, SEE (TM) Smart Services and Spare Parts sales in order to meet company financial objectives.
  • Provide maintenance, installation and upgrades for fleet of SEE equipment and defined partner Equipment.
  • Evaluate customer needs, helping define expectations, planning and organizing service, maintenance or installation work.
  • Evaluate, troubleshooting and recommending repairs, replacement, corrective actions of systems and equipment. 
  • Partner  with Equipment Customer Service, in recommending to customers spares parts needed to keep equipment efficiency at best, following any service / maintenance activity.
  • Provide customers with training on basic equipment maintenance.
  • Proactively seek to generate company revenues in Services and Spare parts sales.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with company, regional, and customer standards, policies and procedures and safety rules.
  • Maintain open communication with Systems & Integration engineers as well as Application & System engineers to ensure all information involving the project and customer activities is communicated and shared.
  • Share technical issues/challenges addressed and solved in the field with the Equipment Machine Experts colleagues based at CSC (Customer Systems Center) in Switzerland.
  • Participate in or leading projects, ensuring timely progress for projects, analyzing data regarding equipment performance, maintenance, replacements, corrective actions, customer needs and other project elements.
  • Record activity into our CRM platform.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

 

  • Bachelors’ level degree in Engineering, preferably Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional certification in high and low voltage 3+ years of directly related “hand-on” work experience in a technical service role which should include the following: 
    • Working knowledge of PLC (Siemens and Allen Bradley)
    • Working knowledge of kinematics, mechanical and electrical drives, and general industrial equipment manufacturing processes are required. 
    • Working knowledge of vacuum processes, materials thermal / physical properties is a plus
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams
    • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage activities based on priorities
  • Must have a safety first mindset in relation to the working environment(s), people and equipment
  • Must be solutions oriented in approach to Sealed Air clients and business partners 
  • Must be fluent in Italian and English with the ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to travel overnight internationally and outside of normal business hours; ***Extensive travel required***
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
