Role Summary
SEE Malaysia Business Director will report to INSEA Commercial Director, the role is based in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the ONE SEE businesses within Malaysia, primarily Northern and Central Malaysia. You will be accountable for the overall business for the entire SEE portfolios, design and drive strategy that fuels business growth. This will include collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure customer needs are met, enabling continuous commercial wins, while delivering values in solving customers’ packaging challenges. Acts as the administrative head for Sealed Air Malaysia and ensures compliance with policy and local legislation by all employees.
Job Description
- Develop business plan for Malaysia market that ensures attainment of company Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and profitability.
- Lead the commercial teams in identifying commercial opportunities through value analysis, in resolving customers’ packaging challenges.
- Manage customers and external partner relationships. Drive strategic partnership with key customers and strengthen Key Account Management.
- Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets in central & northern region.
- Responsible to lead project’s proposal including design, application, costing, timely submission in meeting project requirements to customer satisfaction.
- Drive customer issue resolution and acts as issue liaison with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Proactive to gather market intelligence, comprehend competitor’s activities and ability to identify new business opportunities.
- Sharing market information, performance and dynamic with senior leaders for business performance monitoring, direction alignment and decision making.
- Lead the commercial teams as the Head of the business in terms of overall policy administration, employee communication, compliance etc.
- Provide local leadership to support other functions such as finance and HR. Significant collaboration with regional teams in marketing, technical services, business development.
- Develop and coach the team – ensure high commitment and adequate competency level through regular training, clear goals setting, monitoring of performance and high-level engagement
Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor’ degree in sales & marketing or any related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years in managing business with P&L responsibility. Prior experience in packaging industry will be an advantage.
- Have a proven track record in managing teams of people in different geography. (Remote management experience)
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and adequate financial data analysis.
- Excellent people & project management; attention to details and follow-up.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and self-start initiatives to improve deficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and be change champion in influencing and drive results in complex organization.
- Ability to communicate and liaise broadly across functions and the organization.
- Experience dealing with large companies at the senior/executive level.
