Job Description

Detailed Scheduling Analyst performs a leadership role in plant specific peak demand/ capacity planning to ensure continuity of supply in Simpsonville offerings during peak seasonality. Responsible for short lead time volume segments that require additional scheduling oversight for service throughout business cycles. The Detailed Scheduling Analyst analyzes, develops recommendations for and executes changes to Simpsonville supply chain infrastructure.  The Detailed Scheduling Analyst Performs the collection, maintenance, analysis and reporting of Simpsonville site production and sales data in support of demand forecasting, capacity planning support and inventory strategy support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis in support of demand forecasting, identifying the total demand for goods and services throughout the site.  Collects and monitors monthly actual data for use in site production decisions. Measures forecast accuracy and analyzes root causes of variation for communication out to the respective departments.
  • Performs analysis in support of capacity/supply planning to ensure plans and schedules meet demand plans.  Collaborates with plant to track and gather capacity data.  Collects, monitors, and analyzes work center capabilities data, rates, yields, capacities, utilization, and other production data.  Evaluates monthly data against actual data, analyzes root cause of problems and discrepancies, and recommends corrective actions.  Supports on-going optimization of supply and distribution points to maximize service while minimizing total landed supply costs for every item.
  • Performs analysis in support of site inventory planning.  Determines the required quantity and availability of materials needed to meet the demand forecast schedule given planned capacity.  Collects monthly actual inventories and generates actual vs. plan metrics.  Analyzes root cause of problems with site and recommends corrective actions.  Analyzes SKU data and updates stocking and service policy recommendations for review with Product Management.  Updates safety stock levels and ensures MRP settings reflect updated stock levels and service policies.  Participates in monthly reviews of slow-moving, aged and obsolete inventory with Product Management.
  • Performs data maintenance, generates reports, and optimizes data and reporting tools. Generates key site performance reports including inventory, production, and service. Supports on-going scheduling improvements in utilization of SAP tools, including BW, MIMI and APO. 
  • Serves as a support to other departments by cross training in those areas.
  • Serves as a Group Leader for detailed scheduling projects and initiatives.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Professional Supply Chain certification (in the process of earning or maintaining APICS CPIM or CSCP or equivalent) required.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analytical software.
  • User proficiency in SAP (or equivalent ERP) order management, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory analysis.
  • Lean manufacturing skills preferred in the areas of value stream mapping, single minute exchange of dies, short lead time and small lot manufacturing, and transitioning make-to-stock volume to make-to-order sales.
