Job Description

 

To establish and implement a strategic plan for the graphics market that provides profitable growth and a portfolio of value-added products, services, and systems that support Food Care objectives. To identify new graphics/printing solutions that will solve our customers’ challenges and provide them with shelf differentiation, increasing sales and driving growth for the business unit.

Responsibilities / Duties

 

Develop Differentiated Solutions:

 

  • Identify, assess and prioritize
  • Actively research new graphics and/or printing/coating technologies to acquire as well as differentiated solutions that could be exploited internally. 
  • Understand graphics market potential, end user needs, opportunities and value propositions
  • Review and analyze financial metrics and trends in the relevant business development segments.  Provide support in determining financial strengths and opportunities in active business development programs, including evaluation of sales and margins, financial strengths of target markets, price strategies, capital costs requirements for entry, and other relevant financial input
  • Create proposal to Business
  • Create project charter, define requirements (including investments and resource requirements) and growth expectations
  • Review with appropriate management team(s) to gain approval and project sponsorship
  • Develop and implement model
  • Facilitate testing and pilot opportunities
  • Work with internal teams to evaluate work flow requirements
  • Develop and implement commercial launches of new services, solutions and systems based on priorities established and determined during assessment.
  • Monitor progress and track/report performance
  • Calculate profitability and track monthly growth of key projects/solutions

 

Marketing Functions:

 

  • Establish and implement marketing plan for both existing capabilities and solutions as well as new capabilities and solutions.
  • Work with sales to develop and execute work plans, including sales presentations to key customers and tracking wins and losses
  • Collaborate with others to include appropriate graphics messaging at trade shows, promotions, advertising, PR, etc.
  • Manage graphics marketing projects that involve: planning, developing, producing and delivering of both print- and electronic-based internal and external communications
  • Assist in managing and maintaining website content and on-line reporting
  • Prepare written materials including marketing copy, business communications, reports and presentation and/or video scripts
  • Understand the fundamentals of B2B advertising, public relations, literature and development, printing, photography, trade show and event coordination, web content development and e-marketing techniques
  • Maintain knowledge of graphics market and key customers
  • Gather graphics market and global trends and maintain Cryovac product awareness
  • Ensure timely and effective reporting on graphics market activity and action plans
  • Conduct graphics market research where required

 

Qualifications

 

  • BS/BA degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in sales, marketing, communications role within Graphics/printing industry; Strong technical understanding of Graphics, Flexographic Printing, and/or Inks/Coatings preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience interfacing with customers, sales, and/or marketing
  • Strong business judgment and proven success in managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to clearly articulate value propositions and serve as a key influencer
  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix organization.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and successfully communicate strategic direction.
  • Strong team, motivation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand operational drivers and utilize “lean” principles to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to communicate successfully with external customers and suppliers and convey “value proposition” of the department.
  • Computer skills required including Microsoft Office knowledge and use.
  • Must be able/willing to travel as needed
