Position Summary
- As a member of the Rollstock Maintenance Die Crew, the Maintenance Tech II will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and will provide production support activities during overhauls and emergency die cleanings. The primary work performed in this position is to support production by maintaining extrusion dies and extruder barrels and screws in serviceable condition. Other preventive and corrective tasks will be assigned as needed and will be mechanical in nature.
Responsibilities
- Cleans screws and barrels during planned and unplanned maintenance events.
• Impacts dies, adapters and screws for wear or damage that could result in melt leaks or process upset conditions.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment to measure screws and barrels to track wear.
• Performs ISO calibration verifications of heat zones during overhauls.
• Perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Disassemble and reassemble machines assemblies and sub-assemblies to perform repairs.
• Replace broken or defective machine and equipment parts.
• Works with area teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to operation procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades.
• Will complete Amatrol training to support their professional development.
• Maintenance personnel should be able to use MSDS information to properly deal with any chemical found in the site’s accepted chemicals list.
• Emergency response to process interruptions is required and results in unscheduled overtime.
• Accurate recording of maintenance hours and confirmations in SAP.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Requirements:
- 1 - 3 years industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience in industrial mechanics role preferred. This includes thorough knowledge of the use of hand and power tools to perform mechanical tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to be self-motivated.
- Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks.
