Job Description

 

Coordinates and expedites the flow of work within the department in order to ensure that customer requirements are met in the most efficient way possible.  Position duties include reviewing and distribution of production and shipment schedules; conferring with department leadership to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. 

  • Initiate location balancing with operators and Warehouse personnel to ensure that material inventories are reported in a timely and accurate manner. Perform system related auditing and verification activities to ensure accuracy of data (correcting IDOC errors, verification of bin counts, order corrections, etc). Provide assistance to Production Control clerks as needed to ensure that all customer commitments are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing performance reports as requested by department management. Maintain appropriate inventory of department supplies to include adjustment of inventory levels and re-ordering when necessary. Update department performance management system charts/boards in a timely manner to reflect accurate and up-to-date information related to departmental performance. Prepare and distribute the North American Backlog report. Maintain and update the department plant scorecard file. Perform other duties as directed by Management.
  • Facilitate the use of in-house quality control systems as needed (QM module, paper charts, etc. Process NMR’s and RTI rolls to minimize the amount of semi-finished material that is staged in the department. Administer and monitor daily 6S activities in the department to include daily 6S grading. Act as a resource in analyzing and defining the root cause of quality related issues. Effectively communicate investigation results to help prevent future recurrences.

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be well organized, and perform as a high level contributor in a team setting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access, etc)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP or other ERP system
  • Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
