Production Utility

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Production Utility is responsible for supporting a bagmaking operator running packaging equipment in an industrial plastics facility. Tasks include but not limited to all or some of the following skills:  covering buffers, roll loading which includes driving a prime mover, reading the priority list and/or complex job instructions, entering data into the computer, retrieving supplies and boxes,  labeling product, and understanding and managing the sortation process to ensure steady flow of product to shipping.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Bring to the attention of the shift leads or management any problems with equipment, product, and damage to the facility or safety hazards and follow all safety rules.
•    Read and comprehend a priority list of orders, drive a prime mover or stand up lift to deliver orders to machines per the priority list.
•    Cover buffer jaws per company provided training with consistency and precision.
•    Manage the sortation process to ensure steady flow of product to shipping.
•    Be able to work closely with all other departments to ensure a smooth operation in the pack floor. Perform any other duties as required by the shift leads, maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times, Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
Education:
•    High School Diploma/GED
Requirements: 
•    Strong communication and written skills and ability to work well with others.
•    Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile industrial equipment.  
•    A self-starter and able to work without close supervision
