Job Description


Provides site services in Reclaim/Scrap Plastic Area to collect, separate, bale, recycle, and load or dispose of all site plastic and paper waste (plastic scrap, cardboard paper, boxes, office paper, paper cores, etc.)



  • Operates forklift to load recyclable pallets, plastics, resin, cardboard, and paper on designated trailers.
  • Weigh and mark recyclable material as to content and weight of material, subtracting tare for pallet and container.
  • Segregate recyclable materials and arrange for optimum load/capacity onto the appropriate trailer or storage area.
  • Operate the department’s bailing system as needed to compact and to maximize use of space.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of work location. Sweep, dust, and dispose of trash daily or as needed in order to keep area neat and clean and in PFS compliance.
  • Maintain control and accountability of empty Gaylord boxes.  Document on manifest as each box is loaded on truck.  If any boxes are removed by department employees, update and correct number on manifest.
  • Unload plastic scrap from waste bins.
  • Input plastic scrap data into computer system.
  • Operate baler and band process plastic scrap into bales.
  • As time permits, pick up scrap rolls from lines and deliver to appropriate trailer.
  • Perform daily forklift checks and document.  Distribute copies as directed by department and report deficiencies to forklift repair shop and supervision.
  • Perform daily inspection of trailer and each time a trailer is replaced.  Check for safety and condition od trailer.
  • Coordinate with appropriate agencies/vendors to pickup and replace trailers as needed.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or mishaps in area of responsibility to supervision.
  • Monitor and replace recycle material containers as needed/directed.





  • High School diploma or equivalent


  • Forklift Certification
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to interface effectively with employees, vendors and customers of all levels.
  • Flexibility within a high performance work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work without close supervision.
  • Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained.


Other Requirements:

  • Computer knowledge and 1-2 years of Windows applications, SAP and Sym-ple experience preferred.
