LOCATION:        UK / Scandinavian based
 

MISSION

 

The ideal candidate will be a commercial law generalist with strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts gained in a law firm or in-house position. The role will provide support in advising the business on emerging legal and regulatory risks as well as general commercial work. You will be proactive, display a can-do attitude and have the ability to condense complex matters easily.


RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•    Review, negotiate, draft and advise on a large variety of contracts throughout the European region -and mainly for UK and Scandinavia-, such as confidentiality agreements, and also standard terms and conditions of supply and purchase, supply of services agreements or supply and manufacturing agreements, distribution and agency agreements…
•    Handle document maintenance and contracts data base recordings.
•    Support on corporate secretarial activities on an ad -hoc basis, within the Region liaising with various functions.
•    Co-ordinate with other members of the Sealed Air Law Department wherever they are located.
•    Improve processes to create better efficiency (includes routine agreements form creation and maintenance, implementation of efficient processes).
•    Supervise and monitor legal work relating to pending/potential litigation and other non-contractual projects throughout the Region.
•    Autonomously work on projects in various jurisdictions in co-operation with numerous Sealed Air managers (and at certain times with advice of outside law firms).
•    Able to provide independent, unsupervised advice on the various commercial matters.

 

Qualifications

 

•    Graduate or post graduate certification in General Commercial law or similar.
•    Qualified solicitor, 5-7 years of post-qualifying legal experience, obtained in a respected law firm or company experience.
•    Significant experience in a multi-national, industrial company.
•    Highly articulate in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of one or more other European languages (such as French) would be an advantage.
•    Knowledge of data privacy/transfer would be an advantage.
•    Fully proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office.
•    Ability to travel

•    Able to contribute substantially to the successful delivery of  projects, working in a practical and collaborative manner,
•    Curious and self-motivated, you will look for opportunities for continual improvement and efficiencies
•    Ability to navigate uncertain and new legal environment and propose appropriate legal solutions
