Job Description

The Group Performance Leader is responsible driving the on-time execution of the production schedule by the shop floor, as well as leading the production teams in meeting performance targets.  This position also leads a daily integration meeting with the support groups to address performance and quality issues. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager, drives the daily performance of the production teams on various shifts and manages and leads the Team Performance Leaders and Production team members within the area. 
  • Manage the daily performance summary and is responsible to make sure that performance KPI’s are updated.  The daily performance summary and performance KPI’s are critical for reporting the shift’s performance on a daily bas
  • Lead the daily integration meeting including Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance representation.
  • Create the daily plan based on the output of the daily review, integration, and daily schedule meetings.  It allows for the TPL/GPL to manage the key daily activities that need to be completed.  The daily plan is the tool that allows the GPL to provide active decision making to the shop floor. The daily plan includes performance daily goals for production.PL is responsible for partnering with the maintenance department to coordinate planned maintenance activities.  The GPL will ensure the equipment is prepared prior to maintenance intervention as defined in the daily integration meeting.
  • Lead the daily schedule review process.
  • Support problem solving activities related to safety, quality and performance on the shop floor.
  • When required, the GPL will work with various department Managers to elevate problems related to the value stream.
  • Ensure HPWT’s are completing routine assessments on team effectiveness. The GPL will act as a “Coach for the Coaches” for the respective TPL’s in their area.
  • Perform a daily review of the past 24 hours at the beginning of their day
  • Administer disciplinary action.

Responsibilities continued:

  • Accountability for safety, quality, and productivity KPI’s in their area and will be a key driver in implementing and sustaining Lean in the area.
  • Provide support for all continuous improvement efforts which include implementation of new standards, procedures, and improvements.
  • Provide direction to operators in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager, implements systems to capture and analyze key process indicators.



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2-year Associates degree with equivalent experience (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related technical field preferred)
  • Proven communication skills and problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods (six sigma).
  • Demonstrated flexibility within a high-performance work team environment
  • Leadership across teams working in a 24 x 7 environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change
