At the St. Joseph, MO plant we create top of the line printed film for retail, hospitality, and bulk applications.  We have top notch employees, processes, and equipment. 

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and be trained on a state-of-the-art W&H Printing Press.  Here at Sealed Air, you will be trained by our highly qualified Training Department and will be given every opportunity to succeed and advance your career.

Duties include:

  • Change and match inks for production
  • Load and unload material from the presses using defined equipment
  • Install/remove press cylinders, sleeves and anilox rolls as required for each production order.
  • Set-up and print both surface and reverse print on multiple types of substrates.
  • Perform all required quality checks prior to producing all production orders to ensure a product can be processed at the next stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Assist maintenance and process technician in troubleshooting
  • Follow the production schedule and complete production paperwork
  • Provide adequate turnover to the oncoming shift.
  • Coordinate special projects as they are assigned
  • Break out operators for lunches/breaks and fill in where/when required
  • Safely lift 40#, weight of solvent and ink buckets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and be trained
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is desired.
  • Ability to pass training requirements to become qualified on one or machine production lines.
  • Must have good communication skills both verbally and written.  Must be able to read/write and understand English.
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Must have good judgment with decision making regarding Safety and Quality.
  • Ability to complete production related documentation on both computer and paper forms
  • Must have excellent team skills
  • Ability to take direction from several individuals
  • Ability to work overtime if required to get the job tasks completed
  • Self-motivated and ability to make decisions

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to pass a hue and color vision assessment.
  • Able to work without close supervision and instruct others as necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained.
  • Computer knowledge

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Participate in safety observations
  • Wear all required PPE and PFS: beard/hair net, hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Perform all duties using safe work methods
  • Attend and participate in monthly safety training.
  • Comply with all established site and department safety rules and policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions, all accidents and near misses immediately to the shift supervisor.

- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand - Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature - Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials - Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing - Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations - Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
