Job Description

  • The position focuses data-driven quality improvement opportunities.  The role is one of a quality expert with a broad understanding of quality systems and practical experience implementing them and driving quality improvement.  The Food Care Quality Engineer leads activities focused on continuous improvement in support of Sealed Air Corporation and our customers.
  • Responsibilities
  • Utilize six sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce defects, reduce scrap, analyze capacity, and improve throughput and overall network effectiveness/profitability.  Must have the ability to lead and manage improvement projects using Six Sigma DMAIC principles.  Active leadership of and involvement in various improvement projects is a requirement of this position.
  • Prepare and execute process capability studies across a wide range of applications and prepare and present the results of these activities.
  • Track Critical Performance Measures (CPMs) for Sealed Air and customers and provide recommendations for improving and reaching targets
  • Organize and lead as required, Quality Systems Audits and assessments at various Sealed Air Corporation and supplier locations.  Prepare and distribute summary reports as needed.
  • Perform line validations as major changes are made or new products are developed.  Utilize project management tools to ensure all tasks are completed appropriately.
  • Develop proficiency in and assess existing quality systems infrastructure and tools as needed to develop new or improved tools, systems or solutions to increase organizational and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in an engineering or technical field required. 
  • Extensive knowledge of and training in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing process improvement methodologies is required; Green and/or Black Belt training and experience is desired. A certified Black Belt designation is preferred. 
  • Must have demonstrated skills in both written and verbal communications across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.  The ability to effectively communicate with shop floor personnel, plant leadership, our customers and Sealed Air Corporation business leaders is a critical element for success in this role.
