Job Description

This position will be responsible for ensuring the production of high quality printed and laminated materials at the lowest possible cost, bringing new innovation and expertise to the production teams. Recognized expert in the facility in flexographic printing and film lamination. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Improving manufacturing efficiencies (rate, yield, uptime, quality) inside plant
  • Developing methods to increase rates of products produced without impacting quality
  • Developing methods to increase yields
  • Starting-up new equipment as it comes online
  • Writing procedures for operation of equipment
  • Staying abreast of new equipment / process developments in the field
  • Leading plant efforts in transitioning new products from R&D
  • Communicating regularly with process engineers in other plants sharing combined knowledge
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing problems and identify solutions with data based decision making
  • Identifying and implement new or improved methods of manufacturing to improve profitability
  • Working with quality department in addressing process issues that impact performance of products in our customer’s plants
  • Defining operating conditions and procedures which maximize quality, rate, yield and uptime of processes in plant
  • Conducting capability studies as necessary to define process stability and capability
  • Establishing work plans necessary to accomplish goals, track and report progress in comparison to plans

Qualifications

  • Engineering or equivalent printing technical degree required
  • Printing,. laminating operations is preferred
  • 3 plus process engineering experience 
  • Knowledge of statistics preferred
  • Prior use of designed experiments, SPC or equivalent preferred
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Be able to follow and give high regard to safety rules and housekeeping procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as; SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel, and other software as required
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors, customers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Work equally well individually or in a team situation.
  • Be able to follow and give high regard to both vendor and customer service
  • Availability to travel as needed
