Job Summary
The Executive Director of Sales will develop and execute key business strategies, lead a team of Regional Sales Directors and their Business Development Managers, and drive profitable growth in Protective Equipment & Automation business in North America.
Responsibilities
- Leads, Inspires, Manages, and Coaches High-Performing Sales Team – Leverages consultative sales approach to drive growth; recruits, develops, and retains team of highly-skilled, results-oriented Regional Sales Directors and Business Development Managers; manages wide and deep sales pipeline; uses analytical skills to proactively find ways to increase team productivity; coaches team to make appropriate field and pricing decisions; manages compensation; appropriately partners with sales teams for top to top sales calls and close business; works closely with Sales Operations, Training, Lead Generation, and Demand Generation teams to keep sales teams current and regularly exceeding customer expectations.
- Demonstrates Market and Solution Knowledge – Understands and clearly articulates full suite of Sealed Air Protective E&A Solutions, products, campaigns and programs to leaders, teams and key customers; understands sector/industry needs and economic drivers, and provides key strategic customer feedback and insights back to support partners to strengthen solution suite in marketplace.
- Drives Profitability Improvement – Works closely with Demand Generation team, Portfolio Managers, distribution channels, Supply Chain, Marketing, I&D and other support partners to regularly review and improve account profitability and growth strategies; ability to make and influence critical decisions at the local, regional, and national level.
- Leads Sales Planning and Growth – Leads Regional Directors and their teams to create sales, profitability and growth plans for their assigned territories which will identify how to drive profitable growth with existing and potential customers; holds leaders and their teams accountable to hitting their growth plans.
- Manages Administrative Duties – Ensures team completes key administrative tasks such as pricing, CRM reporting, contract management, rebate and promotion coordination, customer relationship and activity reporting, budgeting, travel and expenses.
- Participates in Corporate Programs – Actively executes corporate programs and campaigns, complies with professional quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Sealed Air’s values and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience, preferably leading sales teams in a large organization
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas in an easy-to-understand way
Additional Qualifications
- Five plus years of automation sales experience preferred.
- Master of Business Administration or graduate degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to champion change/influence teams, motivate teams, develop strong cross functional relationships and drive results in a complex organization
- Extensive experience in leading and coaching sales teams and closing business
- Experience with distribution model sales and direct to customer sales
- Excellent relationship building skills with both internal and external customers
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intellectually curious, analytical, strong attention to detail, self-motivated
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
